About "The Drill Chick"

I attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee, where I was
fortunate to study under such great men as  Joseph Hermann, Wayne Pegram, Dan
Hearn, and Robert Jager.  I received my music education degree in 2001.  I will
begin my Master's degree in Music Education at East Carolina University in 2009.

I have been a drill designer since 2002.  I currently write for several bands across
the Southeast, averaging 7-8 shows per season.   However, recent changes in my
schedule will allow me to open more slots for the coming season.  I am looking to
expand my design services to offer innovative drill across the U.S.  All of my shows
are designed with the 3-D Java Interactive Software.

And yes, I am one of the few, the proud, female drill designers.
My name is Donna Buttrum, and I am the band director at Greene
County Middle School, as well as assistant band director at Greene
Central High School, in Snow Hill, NC.   I am formerly the director of
the Farmville Central High School Band of Farmville, NC, and the
Heide Trask High School Band of Rocky Point, NC.  My high school
bands have been very successful in all areas of performance.

I grew up in Shelbyville, TN, where I attended Shelbyville Central
High School and was a member of the SCHS Golden Eagle Band.
